Dynamic Main Page

Hello,

We kindly ask for your help - is it possible to have a dynamic main page? At the moment the main page is static, and being edited via admin > tools > define page editor.

We would like to have the main area of the main page devided into 4 sections:
1) new products section - the lastest products that were added to the catalog. For example, the last 5 products we added will be evident in this list.

2) promoted products section - a list of 5 product which we will convenietly choose from the admin area.

3) news - some static content we will enter. Should be able to edit it from the admin area with a user friendly editor (without editing php files)

4) we'll think about something

I'm not very familiar with PHP but I can understand code. Is there a module for this or something similar to this?

1 and 2 can be configured with the settings in:-

ADMIN>>>CONFIGURATION>>>INDEX LISTING

... and you configure what products appear using a variety of settings, for example, FEATURED PRODUCTS have to be set up as "featured" in:-

ADMIN>>>CATALOG>>>FEATURED PRODUCTS

There are also settings in ADMIN>>>CONFIGURATION>>>MAXIMUM VALUES.

(There are a few other places where you can set some of the variables that govern the layouts of how these modules display the products).

3. As far as the NEWS section is concerned, easiest to do this in Define Main Page.
