Paypal not working anymore

Hi - I have zen cart Zen Cart 1.3.7.1 and everything has been working fine but recently people have been going through to buy something and paypal does not let them payp saying there is a problem with their funding??

They can purchase elsewhere though??

What can we do to check it / what could the problem be??

Its still not working completly but we have managed to put an order through.

The person couldn't pay with her visa debit and then it didn't work with a mastercard but then with a different master card it worked fine??

We have had problems before with people trying to pay with visa debit.

Please can anyone help??

We want it to run smoothly so clients don't have to have 5 different cards to put through/try before it works...doesnt look good!

If PayPal is rejecting their card, you'll have to ask PayPal for the reason "why".

This is still an issue

We had this from a customer

"Have been trying to make a payment but it keeps coming back saying Paypal can't verify my card, I actually used the same card to the previous payment so I don't know why this is."

It seems so random and yet frequent and it doesnt look good having to send a request for money by email each time instead.

Any help...please

Paypal have been useless...

Alternatively if no one can help solve this...what are our options for a working payment system (that wont scare people awary!)

have you bothered to follow DrBytes recomendation,

Yes ofcourse.. a few months ago and they said it was a problem with the card and I contacted them again today regarding this customer and they said it was a problem with the card (again!) and the customer should get in touch with their online authorisation department of their bank. When we said we get it a lot (4 out of 5 times!) the woman said we should get our customers to call them to check their account!!

!! so I don't know what to do as it will loose us orders

Log the problem in PayPal's ticket system at www.paypal.com/mts and be sure to give as much information you can about the customer, and any details you have from your store about the rejected transaction.
See what response you get from the ticket ... it's handled differently than the telephones.

And post the ticket number here.

Ok, I will do..I don't have any info from my store as nothing ever gets to that point. I don't have any info regarding the customer either?? All I know is that we ourselves have tried to put payments through by taking payment details over the phone from several customers and it doesn't get processed...wont accept cards even when we tried different ones. The odd time it works fine and we have had some orders through with no problems...seems really random??

Don't see how paypal will be able to help as it is so random and we don't have card details....

but what exactly do you want the folks here at ZC to do with a problem that is 100% on paypal.

I have just sent a ticket saying this:

"We are having problems receiving payments from customers on our shop. Most often those using visa cards but not exclusively. The problem occurs after we have entered all the card details into the paypal screen. Yesterday we had a customer who tried it about 5 times and finally the card was accepted on the 5th time.

Why is it doing this and how can we solve this issue as it cannot possibly be to do with the customers as it happens too often and some have told us that they are able to make payments online elsewhere with the same card on the same day.

Please note: I have selected Paypal Plugin but I am not sure this is correct. We have set this up from a zen cart shop."
