back up database

I see that Zencart suggesets that I empty Admin Activity Log table from database. Can you tell me what this will do????? Also it says to back up my database first....Can you tell me how to back up my database? THANK YOU!!!!!!

You can use phpmyadmin or Backup database mod from

Thanks for the response! I sooooooo do not understand how to do that!!!! I took a look at the site that you sent me ,,,,
I had a friend build my site. She will be gone for a month and a half......Is it a problem if I don't empty the adminActivity Log until then?????????
Or....is it easy enough for you to tell me how to back up my database using the info that you alread gave me????
