Just add the 3 categories to be set for DENY to the Discount Coupon ...
NOTE: I don't have a v1.3.7 handy at the moment, but keep in mind that v1.3.8 is a much better version and that you should consider upgrading ...

It works if I have one category set to deny. Once I add a second category to deny (and I've tried different combinations) it no longer allows the coupon to be used.
