Wordpress makes use of an override system some what like Zan Cart. Find a theme close to what you want then modify it. http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/ or create one of your own.

oh gee. there isn't an easy way to just "add a page" to have it function like a blog?

I've written a mod that places a preview of the beginning of your most recent post. It requires Wordpress to be on the same server as you Zen Cart installation. I haven't decided whether to package it up, but if I did I'd probably sell it. You can see what it looks like on our web site birdingdepot.com

not necessarily.. i just want it to have the same look & feel as my regular website. as of right now, the blog is a completely different template so you can totally tell it's a different application.

There's a mod called Blog Integration which allows you to put an RSS feed of your blog onto a custom page for your cart.
