Default Can Zen Cart do this... ?

I need to set up a cart type system, but I'm looking for a certain functionality. I need it to be able to start the customer with a first step, then a second, and so on. In effect, customizing the order of a single product in phases, selecting from graphical options and when complete - to submit the selections via e-mail.

Can this be done with Zen, or does anyone know of a better solution to accomplish this?

    Thanks for any input!

Zen cart allows you to predefine options as attributes that can be added to a base product.

You were fairly vague about what you want but this is the method for most product customization in Zen Cart

Thanks for your quick reply kobra! I guess to be more specific, I need the customer to build their home - step by step...

They would register and go through like so:

Step 1: Choose a blueprint -> click next
Step 2: Choose some flooring (perhaps a couple) -> click next
Step 3: Choose cabinets -> click next

    ...

Finish and submit final customized product. Submission is emailed to rep. Rep contacts customer ...

The straightest approach would be to have your selections as individual products that are summed up into a single order.

Caveat - like in flooring - how will the sq footage of floor "a" be determined?
This Cart script can not read blueprints...

It sounds like you want what is termed a "configurator" and this requires "Dependant" attributes and Zen Cart has no support for them by default or by 3rd party module.

The closest thing I have seen is the PC configurator but have not installed it so can not comment on it's capabilities
