I've been searching all over for a solution to this problem, but haven't managed to spot anything -- hopefully you lot will be able to help out!

I've recently muddled my way through creating a new Product Type for selling tyres. The reason I required a new product type is because the tyres required the additional information of the Width, Aspect, Rim, Speed Rating and Construction.

I have successfully added these values to an appropriate information page, but now I am looking to include them on the product listings pages so that it is immediately clear which tyre has what specifications when browsing and also to provide ordering (and perhaps filtering).

The only way I have spotted to do this so far is to edit with the current core code. I really don't want to do this, because it will make any upgrades / reapplication of this product type much more difficult in future.

So really, my questions are:
1) Is it possible to do this using the override system (or similar), and if so, how?
2) If not, which files should I be editing to achieve what I want?
