Default Poor image quality - How to correct.

    Hi,

I am just starting to add my products to my site and have noticed that the thumbnail images and images on the actual product page are of quite poor quality.

The only image that is decent is the one you enlarge on the product page.

I did read somewhere to have 3 different size images for those 3 sections and upload them via ftp onto the server into all these different folders etc but it just seems a huge hassle and in all honesty would rather leave them as is than do all that.

Are there any other suggestions or reasons as to the poor quality?

    Thanks
    Anna

Um, because you didn't go to all that trouble is the reason your images look so bad.

Look at it this way: Your header image is 900 X 203 pixels, and is 68.3Kb in size.

Your 'Ben 10' image in New Products is 58 X 80 pixels and is 83.5Kb in size.

    Which one looks sharper?

    Look at these:

and consider installing The Image Handler 2 mod.

Images really make a difference as to how visitors judge your website, especially for products like yours.

Ooh, I feel a headache coming on lol.

To be perfectly honest it's not the time and hassle that bothers me (I'm a stay at home mum with plenty of time on my hands lol) it's the fact that I just don't really understand it.

    But I'll get there eventually.

    Thanks again

    Anna
