Checkout through 1 site

Hi all,

Im pretty sure i have read something about doing this but cant find it.

Is there a way of having multiple sites that checkout through 1 site? What ive got is my main fancy dress website which i have just put a SSL certificat onto. I have other websites which have a smaller, more focused range of products on which are under a different domain name. Would i be abel to redirect them to my main website for them to process the checkout?

There was a question not long ago about that, but I'm pretty sure the answer was "You can't do that". Seems like the whole sessions thing would get in the way.
