Bouncing to Admin Home

Hi guys,

This is the first time I come across this issue, not sure if it is because of the server (Dreamhost).

If I try to change anything in admin (the template, the boxes, the configuration, options, etc.) it won't do the change and will bounce to the Admin Home.

ZC v.1.3.8a with all security patches (fresh install)
PHP v5.2.6

I saw this problem on a site where the latest admin security patch had been improperly installed - the file admin/includes/functions/html_output.php had not been replaced with the new one. Updating that file with the one from the security patch fixed the problem immediately.

Thank you. Apparently I missed that file when I uploaded the patch.

I am having the same problem. Just started today.

I am also with Dreamhost.

I uploaded the html_output patches yesterday. I just double checked the two files with WinMerge and the patch files are indeed identical to the ones I ftp'd yesterday.

Everything esle in the admin panel works...just can't update ANYTHING via the config menus.

I had this exact same problem. Again, I would echo comment about checking the patch install. Because the admin html_output.php already exists in the system, it is easy to see it there and assume that you have already uploaded it instead of overwriting it. I blindly reinstalled (and overwrote) each of the five files in the patch and the non sticking data issue disappeared. Oh ... I logged out of the admin and re-logged after the patch reinstall. Worked fine then.

It seems I was swimming against the current.

I applied the v138_2009_0619 patch (5 files) in June when it came out, and while I was still in v1.3.7. Also followed all the other security recommendations.

I upgraded to 1.3.8 this week. Yesterday I diligently (so I thought) went through all the known bugs list and applied all the changes, including the two zip files for admin and includes html_output.php.

Which would explain why everything was working yesterday and not today.

I just re-edited the wayward html_output file in admin/incl/functions on my test localhost site and that has rectified the config problem. So now I will apply the same changes to livesite. Fingers crossed.
