Attribute Showing As Radio Set For Dropdown

Okie dokie here I am with yet another question ~

I went through the tutorial and followed step by step
Name is Color set as drop down
Values are there - have 8 of them
Placed the attribute on the product

but when I go to the item in my catalog the option is set as a radio button and it selected the first color

When using the Dropdown, if you only have 1 Option Value added to the Attributes, this will automatically revert to a selected Radiobutton so that the dropdown is not there with just 1 choice when there is nothing to choose from ...

Once you add the 2nd Option Value, this will automatically switch back to the dropdown ...

NOTE: you need to set a default if you want a Radio button pre-selected and it is recommended that you add an extra Option Value such as:
Pick one
Select from below
What do you want
Your Choice

and set it as Default YES and Display Only YES and with a Sort Order of 0 ...

Note: all default Sort Orders can be updated after the attributes are added by clicking the Update Sort Order button at the top of the screen ...

That's just it ~ I have 8 values and they are numbered 1 - 8 in the sort order

Ajeh meant to say Dropdown instead of radio buttons.

You must not have your options set up correctly or it would be working.

I don't know what happened where. I completed deleted the attribute and started from scratch only to run into the same problem. I then went into the value screen and added each value one by one to the item that needed it and now it's working. So even though I went a totally bass-ackwards way I'm sure, I got it to work.
