Customizing the Invoice

Hi all ...

We are finding the existing invoice being created by Zen Cart to be a little too much for our purposes ... too many columns and fields (such as all those Including/Excluding Tax columns). See below ...


We would like to have something that looks more like this (with the tax calculated after the subtotal but before the shipping):


I have been looking at making changes in the following:
admin/invoice.php
admin/includes/languages/english/invoice.php

Could someone point me in the direction on how to get the accomplished as I am far from a competent php coder.
