How can I put an image in PHP?

I wanted to add some text and images to my footer. I was editing english.php

now of course someone will probably tell me a better way to do this. But I just took some text, images and links that I made in MS Frontpage and tried pasting it into that area.

It gave me a t-string error when It got to loading a image.

How can I accomplish this?

Actually now I almost have what I want. I modified the tpl_footer.php

But I need some help cleaning it up a little. The Go daddy Code and the Authorize seals want to make their own breaks. Can someone help me make everything go on 1 line?
