red flag Ok completely new to Zen and lost

Ok, I am trying to locate the text edit in Admin. I see all of these numerous different categories and changing values. But how to do I get to the text edit. I am simply trying to change my logo, colors, sales message, etc. But cant see how to access any of it in admin.

I read all of the stuff on the help site, including the find this /includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/css/stylesheet.css
but where the heck is that supposed to be? where or what do I access to get to that area?

I am afraid its one of those if it was a snake it would have bit me.

Unfortunately, the design side of things are not editable from the admin.

Get a FTP client and a good plain text code editor.

FTP the file to edit to your local > edit > save > FTP back

Read the tutorials on templating and overrides first to get an idea of how not to edit the base core files and only copies of them for your template

A good editing program is notepad++ and is free. As far as the FTP program, I use cuteFTP. Some folks prefer a different FTP program, but it has worked well for me. Get Firefox and the web developers addon...it helps you find stuff you want to change.

    Don't get discouraged....keep plodding along.

OH, when looking for specific phrases or words, use the admin/tools/developers toolkit. In the lowest left box, place the phrase/words, then choose all files catalog/admin.

You will get a list and the line number of where those phrases and words are. FTP that file to your computer, edit it, then FTP back.

DON'T FORGET TO USE OVERRIDE FOLDERS! Check the FAQ/tutorials for that info. There is a mod/download that shows a chart of where the folders should be. Any changed file should be placed in your override folder to maintain it in the event of any Zen updates.

    Good luck.

It's normal to feel lost. You'll catch on.
