Default Payment Gateways or Virtual Processor

    Dear Zen Cart Community

I am new to the ecommerece business. I have done some research on e-commerece business and have learned that their are a couple of companies that are big names in the payment processing business. I've come to the conclusion that Authorize.net seems to be the most popular online payment processing company for many online stores. I am interested in hearing of some of the other payment processing companies that the Zen Cart Community uses in their application. What are the pros and what are the cons? I am not trying to be lazy, but the best information that you can get before you make a purchase on any kind is directly from a current consumer of that product or service. Your help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank You

Some would say that Zen Cart recommends Authorize.net. You'll see that if you click on the "Recommended Services" link at the top of this page, and follow it to the payment processing service recommendations. In fact, if you sign up using one of those services, you not only support the Zen Cart project but you also get some of the most competitive rates in the industry -- certainly far better than if you went directly to the gateway company yourself.

Nevertheless, there's nothing wrong with researching other offerings in order to be comfortable knowing that you're getting the right product for the most appropriate price.
