Hey i may have found a problem.
In the start of the log file (which i found) it reads:
2008-08-29 12:42:03
-------------------
(live transaction) --> https://payflowpro.verisign.com/transaction
Request
This the wrong url as it needs to go to :
https://payflowpro.paypal.com
this link was changed earlier this year by paypal.
Where is this located in zen cart or the module so i can change it ?
What else is in the log file?

That's an Inquiry transaction.
You need to do a payment transaction and capture the logs from that.

As far as i am aware i am doing a payment transaction. I don't know how to do anything different. I purchase a product and that is the log that's created. How doyou generate an inquiry transaction normally ?
Okay so the fact that a log file is not generated until i go and review the customer order through the zen admin orders page is really the problem isn't it ?
There should be a log file created when the customer actually purchases something and the sale transaction is sent to paypal shouldn't there ?
The fact that this isn't happening is a concern isn't it ?
Where would this log file be created if it were created ?
If the payflow module is in fact being used for the purchase, then it should also be generating a log file ... in the same folder as you were seeing the other log files.
If for some reason your site is using some other module for payment then that would explain why you're not getting transactions over on the PayPal side.
In your admin, for the orders you were trying to "view", what payment module does it say was used? You'll see both the payment and shipping module codes in the 2nd column when viewing your list of orders under Admin->Customers->Orders
