I did this yesterday when faced with the same choice as yourself.

I was dreading it and gave myself 3 days to learn how to do it.

The good news is its not nearly as difficult as first looks.

Read the Wiki on Easy populate.

All you need to do is asign the correct headings to the data columns that have been supplied to you.

Eg v_products_description_1. Headings MUST be exactly correct.

You will find a list in the Wiki, just follow this very closely.

Note, even if you already have your products file stored in the correct folder of Zencart, you still need to go to easy populate in admin and Upload changes through the panel.
