help question Authorize.net SIM vs AIM

Hi, Im a bit of a newb dealing with Authorize.net. Was able to set it up farely quick with SIM, but having issues with AIM - it just hangs there when trying to complete the order.
What exactly is the difference between the two? I couldnt find any info about it on this forum. What are the advantages of setting up AIM?

Thank you for any help on this!

The AIM module accepts the credit card info directly on your site and then passes it securely to the gateway in the background. It has a tighter handshaking between your store and the gateway service than SIM, and typically has faster response times.

Ok. Just went through the tutorial and did everything step by step again. no real changes from what i tried before, but figured i'd try it anyway. The result did not change either - after i press "confirm the order" button on the last step of the order , the page just hangs there for about 30 seconds and then stops.
    SIM is working just fine.
    any ideas?
    thank you!

GoDaddy's servers are configured with a different standard than the rest of the website hosting industry. They do a lot of weird things ... one of them is requiring the use of a "proxy" server in order for their servers to communicate to other webservers - including your Authorize.net gateway.

You can turn on the proxy settings by following the steps in this post: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61528
