    Default Index page

How do I make my store front page my index page? I'd rather my domain name take my customers right to my storefront, rather than have my customers go to another website first with a link to the storefront. Thanks in advance for your help.

That's the best way to do it. Just install Zencart to the 'root'of your site (often the public_html folder) and you're good.

If you've already installed Zencart to a subdirectory, just move all the folders and files to root and then edit the paths in admin/includes/configure.php and includes/configure.php

It's probably a good idea to remove all the files that are currently in the root directory first.

Thanks for the reply! Now, I am a newbie, and am having a hard time understanding that response. I'm sorry and should have disclosed that initially! Can you please explain again?

    To my knowledge:
When I go to make changes to the zen cart, I access the public_html folder, and then the includes folder to then access my languages and other folders to change the settings and information for my store.

How I'm guessing what the answer is -
I move all the information that is in the includes folder up to the main directory (that includes the public_html folder)? But then you say to delete the all the files in the public_html folder first, so that's why I'm comfused.

I very much appreciate your reply!
    Thank you.

If you are going from public_html to includes then you do not have to move anything - you access your store from YOUR_URL.com/index.php

If you go to YOUR_URL.com and you are not seeing the store then the index.html is in the way.

Right now, the domain savagecustomrods.com contains a non-Zencart website with a link at the bottom to your Zencart installation, which is in savagecustomrods.com/index.php.

That means you did install Zencart in the root directory, along with the files for your current site.

Browsers will load an index.html file first - that's why when I go to your site, I see the non-Zencart site first. The opening file for Zencart is index.php

To have Zencart load when someone goes to savagecustomrods.com, you should be able to just delete the index.html file from the public_html folder.

If I don't understand what you want to do, let me know.

Thank you Kim and stevesh for your responses! I deleted the index file out of the public_hml folder, and it did exactly what I wanted! Thanks so much!

I'm sure I'm going to have a lot more questions, but with help like this, I couldn't ask for more!
