you do not "get it", as it is builtin....you create the folders named for your template and these house your edited files

As you can tell, I am new to ZC. Creating the file or directory is accomplished by how, FTP??

I have read the threads, but are they talking about the directory where ZC is install at??

Look at the way Zen Cart is structured (either through your CPanel file manager, FTP client or by unzipping Zen Cart on your computer). Anywhere you see a /classic/ folder, you can create a folder for your custom template.
