Getting a sidebox to work

Hi,
I am using the - Free_Yellow - Template.

I am trying get the -Tell a friend- sidebox to show up on my page.

I have gone to Admin -tools- Layout Boxes
and have turned it off and on a hundred times and made a thousand changes to every thing that could be changed and it will not show up!

There seems to be other sideboxes too that will not show up???

Is this the fault of the template that I am using? or am I just doing something wrong???

Which other side boxes are not showing?

Another one is the Manufacturers one.

It says it is on, but it does not show.

There are others too, but I think it is because I do not have any product yet...

But I do have the default Manufactures that came with the install still listed and it will not show up even though it says it is on.

Tell a friend will only show when a product is displayed - not on the main menu...
