Plus what I discoverd is that you cannot make the coupon free shipping if you use percentage.
Thanks
The coupon has been setup for one use by one customer but I haven't been able to get it to work yet. I get the error message every time.
Also, I am not using any percentage discount.
I've read the other posts on this forum regarding similar problems, but as yet I cannot discover what the problem may be.
Thanks for all the advice, hopefully you'll be able to find the solution![]()
Have you restricted its use to a particular product or category?
Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.
Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.
What does the STATUS read for the Coupon?
Do you see the Y or the N under the STATUS ...

Nope, the coupon isn't restricted and the status is marked as 'Y'![]()
I have tried setting up the same Discount Coupon that you have listed and I cannot make it fail ...
When you enter the Discount Coupon on the checkout_payment page, what error comes up if you type in the code and hit enter?

Set the Top to DENY ... then set the Category you want included to ALLOW ...
NOTE: if you have Linked Products, at this time it is best to set the Restrictions by Products rather than Categories ...

Does this mean you can not buy a gift certificate with a discount coupon?
This is what I'm trying to do and I'm running into this problem.
I want to be able to offer my clients through a newsletter, a gift certificate that they can use. I don't want to use the coupon discount for this.
My idea is to send them a discount code which is only redeemable when getting a gift certificate. Then once they have the GC, they can send it to a friend or whatever they want.
I have set it up so customers can buy GC, but I can't seem to get this to work.
Also...as a side note, how would I set up an automatic release of GC's?
Thanks
~Happy
