This doesn't sound good. Is there any sort of work around, using rainbar, google gadgets or yahoo widgets or something?

You could try AveDesktopSites. Seems to work on XP too.

Thanks - this seems to be doing what I want now.

Back to the vista systems now - the page doesn't seem to be updating with the vista gadget.

And when you manually press refresh I get a snapshot of www.microsoft.com (the example site) breifly before an update of the ZC orders comes up.

I realise this may be a bug in the Vista gadget but any ideas appreciated

Got mine working again. Found a site to force a registry key change to allow Web tab again.

Anyone having problems with the refreshing on the vista method try this:

Change the line

<META HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" CONTENT="180">

To this:

<META HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" CONTENT="180; URL=http://www.yoursite.com/active_desktop.php">

where the 180 is the number of seconds you want it to refresh and the url is the full url address of your active desktop.

I have the same issue and this did not fix it. Whenever it refreshes or I click refresh.. it defaults to the microsoft website for about 10-15 seconds before returning to the Desktop Data info. This is not a really big issue.. just more of an annoyance.

It may be part of the side gadget code.. not sure if that is something anyone can edit or not.
