I have an option at my hosting company to use either PHP4 or PHP5.
Which is less problematic with 1.3.8a?

You can use v1.3.8 on either PHP4 or PHP5.
However, the next version of Zen Cart will require PHP 5.2 minimum. So, I suggest using PHP5 so you don't have to change it later..
