I don't know what is causing it or how to correct it.

Thanks for the additional advice, Misty. - Sorry it took so long to come back the thread, RL being a bit hectic at the moment.
ehswift, I am not sure about your problem but my personal advice would be to rollback your installation of the GoogleCheckout module (ie: put everything back to how it was before installing the module using the backup files you should have made) and then re-install the module taking care to use installation method 2 - the one for people with potential module conflicts.
As /admin/modules.php is not overwritten by any of the files in the GoogleCheckout module I would say that your problem lies in one of the files being referenced by that file and that file is, presumably, one of those overwritten by the GC module or modified by you to accomodate that module in your installation. - Again, it comes back to checking your installation, because you clearly either have a conflict or you have forgotten to copy something over somewhere.
Thanks for your reply regarding this issue. Do you think that it would be better to 1st go over all of the install steps again to make sure that I did not miss anything and if that does not work then uninstall it?

My advice - uninstall it and forget about it. I am a big fan of Google in most things, but Google Checkout is total rubbish. And I'm not referring to any available Google Checkout payment module but to Google Checkout itself.Do you think that it would be better to 1st go over all of the install steps again
I have used their system as a customer once and will never use it again - "klunky" doesn't even begin to describe it.
I suspect that many people want to use it just to get the Google Checkout button next to their Google Ads, provided the Google Checkout module they are using is fully compliant with all of Google's rules and regs. But there are so many better payments systems - even PayPal is better than Google Checkout.
At least that's my opinion.
