Question on NavMainSearch background Image

I am trying to put a background image on the NavMainSearch section of my site www.stephenestrada.com/Zen

so I edit the stylesheet similar to the sidebars which worked but the image doesn't show up,
if I right click in Firefox and choose "view background image" it shows my image, also anyone know what size you make that background image?

I just looked at your site in IE7 and FireFox.

There are some issues with overlapped items and repeating images.

Your site looks skewed in both browsers.

padding-right: 1px;
padding-bottom: 1px;
padding-left: 1px;
background-image: url(../images/Cart_bar.gif);
background-repeat: no-repeat;

Try changing background color to transparent.

Suggestion: Visit your stylesheet for some elements that are not functioning/missing. In FIreFox some areas that should contain stylesheet info are returning the message "no Sytle Information"

If you are trying to shade the area behind the search input box, you should create an image just for that div..#navMainSearch....

Currently you are putting the image (with extra white padding) on SearchCartBarWrapper which is not the best way to procede...

Ugh I'm dieing here, I started fresh, made everything I could find transparent, tried adding my background image, one at a time ofcourse, to all these pages:#navMainSearch, #searchCartBarWrapper, #navMainSearch, #searchCartBar, #navEZPagesTOCWrapper, .

Any ideas
?

I see that you have tidied up the layout - the side columns are now vertically aligned. Your site is coming along nicely...

edit your background image and crop the image to the shaded area to remove all the white padding...

only apply your background image to the #navMainSearch div only
and you will need to give this div a width and height that matches the size of your background....
