Default How do I add Categories to invoice and cart?

After many months our website has finally started to take off, but now I have a problem. I run a Video Game site for our retail store. The problem is that the same title (game) will be in multiple categories. I.e the same game comes out on 360, ps3, and Wii. On the customer invoice and in the admin, the invoice only shows the title, not the category or sub-cat. I would also like to display this in the cart to help ensure our customers don't order a game for the wrong system. Any help would be great. Here's the site for reference.

How about an example for a Product that does this, such as the URLs to the various Categories so that we can see this ...

I am guessing that these are separate Products and not Linked Products to the multiple categories ...

If I were you I would take a very different approach...

Though the NAMES of the games may be the same, they are fundamentally DIFFERENT PRODUCTS.

Look at the BARCODES of a similar named game for 360, ps3 and Wii.

Each will have a unique barcode. This clearly defines them as being UNIQUE for each format.

What you are proposing to do (list the category name on the order) will not solve your problem, and may add to customer confusion AND result in wrong product types being despatched.

You have several choices as to how to proceed, but the MAIN issue is to make sure that your customer selects the correct format of the game they are choosing.

You can either set up each game as 3 (or more) separate products, using their barcode as your MODEL NUMBER.

Alternatively, you can set up the different FORMATS (Wii, PS3 and 360 etc) as a required PRODUCT ATTRIBUTE SET so when the customer reaches the product description of the game, they have to click a radio button indicating the format they need.

Their choice at this stage will appear on the final order.
