    Default Restricted Customer Registration

Can I set up my zen cart so that only users from Michigan, USA can register? Also, is it possible to turn off registration completely and create new users from the admin panel?

    Thanks,
    - Evan Byrne

Far as I know, you can't set up zones for registration.

What you can do is set Admin - Configuration - Customer Details - Customer Approval Status to 1 and just not approve anyone who isn't smart enough to live in the great state of Michigan.

There's an Add Customers from Admin mod here:

    Thank you!

OK some more things: Can I change "Fax number" under Additional Contact Information to "email address" on the registration page?

You can change the words 'Fax Number' to 'Email Address', but it will still be processed by Zencart as a fax number, unless you do a lot more customizing.

Admin - Tools - Developers Tool Kit and search for fax number to find where that's defined.

Um, there is already a box for Email Address, too.

Yet another thing, is there an easy way to remove all Countries but the USA? Doing it through Menu > Locations / Taxes >Countries Would take forever.

Actually, it takes 12 minutes. I timed it for another thread.

You can do it by accessing the database directly if, unlike me, you know what you're doing.

OK, I'll do that then since I know SQL. BTW I have dial-up, it would take more than 12 minutes for me. ;-)

You must be a Yooper if you only can get dial-up.

No, I live right next to Lapeer, MI (in the thumb area) but I'm just barely far enough away to not be able to get cable.

BTW thanks for all you help, you have no idea how much your input helped me! :-)

OK, is it possible to completely disable customer registration on the site? I just want to manually add users from the admin panel with that mod and not allow anyone to even see a registration form on the site.
