need help with e-mail error

I am testing the settings by purchasing a test product and I selected money order/check as payment and when I hit Confirm Order, the final step, got an "email error, SMTP, the following recipient failed" and it shows my email address. What did I do wrong? thank you in advance.

That message comes from the mail server, not Zen Cart.

The mailserver apparently doesn't want to send that email ... which is likely due to something related to how the server is configured by your hosting company.

Try SMTPAUTH instead.

another e-mail question. I completed the test product purchase but did not receive an e-mail confirmation telling me my order was received. is there such an e-mail?
