Customer login problem - Security error when trying to log in

Hi, I'm getting an odd error I've never come across before. It's probably GoDaddy...

I'm still testing a shop before taking it live, and an interesting error has shown up: I can't log in more than once as a customer. I had a test customer and put an order through, then logged out. Later, I tried another order, and I got this error:

"There was a security error when trying to login." It was at the top of the page all in red. I figured I just forgot my password. So, I had a new one generated and when I put it in from the email, it still didn't work. I thought it was weird, but decided to move on.

I created a new customer and proceeded with my test. Everything went fine. Now, I'm trying to make sure the sales tax calculates right, and guess what...? The system won't let that second test customer I created log in. I tried the forgotten password thing again and that didn't work either.

I have no idea what's going on here. I can log in and out of the admin area all day long, but as soon as I try to log in as a customer, I get the error. The only thing I can think of is that GoDaddy is stupid.

I've installed two different Zen Cart shops on other hosts (hostgator, 1and1), and never had a problem. However, those shops were both Zen Cart v. 1.3.7. Could this be a problem with 1.3.8a?

The new shop is located on a GoDaddy Virtual Dedicated server. So, with this information, does anyone have any idea what's going on?

I don't have any weird modules installed...just normal stuff I've used before:

- Authorize.net SIM
- google base feeder
- google xml sitemap generator
- sales report
- flat rate shipping
- ultimate seo urls

Anyone have any ideas for me?

Turn off the SEO URLS and then see if things work properly

That didn't help... I've got my test store set up on a hostgator server exactly the same as on the godaddy server. That's the only thing I can think of...

I'm at a loss here and this is kind of urgent. Any one have any ideas?

OK, so, apparently this is a known issue. The hostgator version of the store is 1.3.7 and the GoDaddy version is 1.3.8a, which falls in line with the troubleshooting article.

The thing is, I don't think that I've edited those files that are mentioned in the troubleshooting article. I'm going to double check, but it those files are all stock, could the "security token" be killed by something else, like the web host?

I am running Firefox 3, so I decided to try Safari. Same problem. If anyone has had any experience with this, please help.

Resolved.

The two files in question (from the troubleshooting article mentioned earlier) were in fact modified. So, I added the security token fields and everything worked fine.
