Default Adding a logo to the header

hello, i am a bit of a noob, i have the gloss black template installed on my site at http://www.airmunition.co.uk but i want to know how i would add my logo onto the top left and corner, over the top of the black header, so for example if i had a logo with a transparent background if this is at all possible.
    Thanks

In the folder "includes/templates/gloss_black/images", you already have a logo.gif file. Just edit it to meet your needs and it will automatically show in the spot you want.
    A little help with colors.

ok thanks, where would i need to edit to change the file path extrension that it accepts. i want it to locate .jpg rather than .gif
And also if you look at my site now, i have tried to edit the header itself by editing the header_back.gif image using the same width dimensions, however it seems to have white lines in between each section.

The template you are using has logo.gif as part of
template header...alter name and or extension may
    require editing template files...
