What type of changes did you make and then upload?

It could be possible that the files you edited are the same files that FileZilla has failed to upload - hence why you see none of these changes online.

Have you tried speaking to your webhost about these failed file transfers? Maybe you need to tweak the FileZilla settings in order to get things working correctly.

I'd try another FTP client, too. I've had good luck with the FireFTP plugin for Firefox.

Make sure you're not trying to change a protected file. For instance, you would need to change from 444 to 644 in order to edit/change the configure.php files.
