Default Catagory to Customer login question

Is there a way to make catagorys only show up to certain customer log in? Example:

If i had a customer called Ahern and they Order Stickers, business cards etc... And I only wanted them to be able to order that perticualry product and no one else. Is there a way to make a Catagory called Ahern with products like business cards, and Decals, and have this catagory not show up to public but only to the ahern log in.

This is hard to explain, I hope somone understands if not ill try and reward it.

    Thanx

Zen Cart does not currently have this feature built-in.

However, it is possible to do it with custom code. Essentially you'd need to build a security model, decide "who" *is* allowed to see certain products/categories. Then set up a group to allow that access. You'd need to store the authorization information in the database. You'd need to build a validation checker to ensure someone doesn't access a prohibited item by typing in the product number or accessing it via a search. And then you'd need to validate it during the checkout process as well.

I am building a cart for a commercial customer, it will be for their internal use only (Their employees will use the cart to order materials from a specific supplier for internal projects)

One of the things on their wish list is to have a super set/subset access for the various products and/or categories.

The intent would be to give any of their authorized users access to to subset list of products but only allow selected individuals to have access to the super set of products.

From the answer above this is not built in, my skill levels with PHP and SQL are not at a level where I would want to attempt this modification myself.

I think a work around might be to actually build two separate carts one populated with the subset items the other populated with all items (SuperSet). While I think this would work it seems like a lotta work, and an administrative nightmare for on-going maintenance.

Is there a recommended list of support shops that I could contact for a quote on the custom coding required to implement this feature per your comments ?
