Please help - HSBCSecure ePayments

I am designing a web site for some one who wants to use HSBC for their payments (the web site is at http://plantperfection.co.uk/shop/ ).

I have never done anything like this before and I would be so grateful if anyone could give me a simple idea of where to start - it just looks like an impossible situation at this stage but I need to get it done by this weekend, so any hints for a beginner would be much appreciated.

How are payments to be collected...direct to hsbc or
by payment gateway i.e. protx

Thanks for getting back to me. The client wants payments to be taken on the site, without the customer being directed off site at all to HSBC). He seems to have been talking to HSBC people who say that it is possible to do that without going through anyone else to process the payments.

I'm just so unfamilier with all the options to be honest. I have been looking through the Protx web site and have registered for a test account but it is totally over my head even looking through the pdf about how to get that implimented to the site.

I want to be sure of what to do - Am I right that if I go for Protx that would mean their additional 10p per transaction fee would be on top of what he has already looked into paying HSBC? In which case I would probably need to just go straight through HSBC.

To pay directly to HSBC would require zencart payment module....not sure current up to date one exists...
PROTX...terms and charges can be found on their website
and there is a Protx zencart module that is current and
does work.
