Help- Payment screen Asks for Payment -Then Nothing

I have installed Paypal IPN and fast and easy checkout. But even when I turn off/disable fast and easy checkout in configure I get the same error message :"please select a payment method for your order", upon checkout. I have been on the phone with paypal and they say that everything is good on their end. I have posted under the fast and easy checkout area, but now I think it has nothing to do with it. I've also been reading posts and haven't found the same error.

Can anyone help? Am I overlooking the obvious? I've been struggling on this one for the past couple of days. All help greatly appreciated!

I also own the manual and have had my hosting company ensure that the allow_url_fopen is on now. Any other ideas? Lynn

First of All... I do immensely appreciate your service.

I've contacted Paypal and they say everything is good on their end. I've been in touch with my hosting company: everything is good on their end. I have read dozens of posts and tutorials and
a. all zones in any of the payment methods read "none"
b. I have installed and enabled check/money order and that doesn't show either.
c. I have uninstalled and then re-installed Paypal IPN a second time.

My site hangs on 'Your Order Total"... Please select a method.
