Possible to add a coupon to just a certain category?

After all this time of using Zencart this is the first time I've been asked to implement coupons, and I am stuck. The client wants them only in one category, and I can't see how that can be done.

Is it possible?

I did check the tutorials and it said there should be a restrictions button that would enable us to restrict the coupons to just a certain category or product. However at least in this build of v1.38 the only restriction in the coupon code is one to restrict the zone and nothing else.

Any other ideas would be most appreciated.

You're looking in the wrong place. Don't go to admin->modules->order totals, go to admin->gift certificates->coupon admin and press the restrictions button on the right hand side.

That's where I am going and there isn't a restriction button. I'm inserting a coupon, and the only button in there is to preview.

Thank you SW guy, thanks to you I finally found it. Seems a little back-ackwards to me.

So by putting one category in there and allowing it, does that restrict it to just that one category?

Sorry to bump this, but I have set up the restrictions to the 3 categories with the discount, yet the discount is being taken store wide. Is there something else beisde the restriction that needs to be done?

Set the Top Category to Deny ...

Do you use Linked Products?

Then all you should need to do is set the Top Category to DENY and the other Categories to ALLOW and all should be fixed on your Discount Coupons ...

NOTE: be sure you are not trying to do Free Shipping at the same time as a Discount Percentage or Discount Amount ...
