Problem when adding templates to my 1.3.8a site

I have done 4 installs of 1.3.8a only to have them broken when I applied a template that said it was designed for 1.3.8. The cart with the issue is www.bourbonbarrelfoods.com/shop1 and www.bourbonbarrelfoods.com/shop2 . I have tried 3 different templates, all with the same result.

Whe you click to add an item to the cart, it goes to a blank page. If you click back on your browser you find the item in the cart. When click checkout, again you are taken to a blank page. I am at a loss on what is causing this and how to fix. This seems to be a bug in the new program. Any help is appreciated.

Templates being used on those sites is Apple Zen.
Suggest you search for that templates support thread
and post your problem there.

I have done that to no avail. Apple Zen is not the only template that has been tried. Any template application breaks the cart.

I take it you've tried reverting to the Classic template and everything works then? Or not?

It isn't just your Add to Cart button that leads to a blank page - the other two buttons (Tell a Friend, Review) do the same.

Blank pages are usually caused by corrupted or improperly edited PHP files. Do any of the templates you tried modify any of the pages that are showing up blank? Maybe you have some corrupted files in template_default.

When I revert to the Classic template it is still broken. I just downloaded the new version of Apple Zen yesterday to install. I will look to see if the pages that are having issues are in the download. Thanks.

1st step should be in YOUR_ZEN_CART/includes/application_top.php

find the line near the top that says;
define('STRICT_ERROR_REPORTING', 'false');

change it to:
define('STRICT_ERROR_REPORTING', 'true');

so you can see what's going on
