Default Running the cart from an existing site

I have an existing website and I would like to have Zen Cart linked into it.

I am OK with the themes and styles etc, I am struggling with running the cart from my existing site.

If I have a page page.html on my current website, how can I include the Zen Cart index.php from my html file?

You can install Zen Cart in a subfolder like /shop/ and have a link in your main site that points to
    http://www.yoursite.com/shop/ .

This does run the risk of losing the customer's shopping cart contents and any other settings like language display if they leave the shop for the main site. There is no way to avoid this if you have an HTML site.

Yes, I have the setup like you suggest....

    http://www.mysite.com/cart/

Where the cart area is Zen Cart. I have configured Zen so that the http://www.mysite.com/cart/index.php pretty much does what I want it to do.

I use Rapidweaver to build my site for an easy life. It creates index.html files for each of the pages. Adding a cart page into Rapidweaver creates the menu structure for the site. So for the cart page, Rapidweaver will link to and create an html file in the cart directory - but not the Zen Carts php file.

If I could simply edit my index.html file to say go and run the index.php file then that would work for me.

I don't know enough about html to do that though.

How is it that you are trying to link the HTML site and the Zen Cart site? Do you have the products displayed in the HTML pages, or in the ZC pages? When you say "Adding a cart page into Rapidweaver", do you mean you are trying to make that page function as a direct extension of an HTML page? Which pages are you trying to link?

I think you are going about this in the wrong way. You need to make an HTML link that is placed in the HTML page, like
    <a href="http://www.mysite.com/cart/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=21_27">Subcategory 21_27</a>
if you are trying to get to subcat 21_27 (or whatever its name is).

A link to your site will help in giving useful advice.

Thanks for your help on this.

With a bit of persistence I ended up sorting it out.

The Rapidweaver site can also use php pages and I just set one of the pages up as a cart page and copied the RW style and template info into my Zen custom template. Works a treat. Shopping cart is preserved for the user backwards and forwards within the site OK.
