Category nesting help

I've set up categories and subcategories with products but I can see that the nesting is somehow messed up.
I have category "Fabric" and under it subcategory "Designer", but when I select "Designer" the path at the top shows "Home :: Designer" instead of "Home :: Fabric :: Designer".
What did I do wrong?

My site is currently password protected because it's not live and I don't want people trying to order stuff (Unless there's another way to do this I don't know about).

But...
When I look at my top category (Fabric)'s URL, the cPath is 65 and when I look at "Designer", which should be under fabric the cPath is 68, and I think it should be 65_68 since Designer is a sub category of Fabric.

In Admin under Categories/Products Designer show as a subcategory of fabric.

If my test site is any guide, you're right - the id should be 65_68.

You don't have both subcategories and products in that category?

Have you tried deleting and recreating the subcategory?

No, I don't think you can have both subcategories and products in a category.

I created a brand new subcategory called "test" under the main "Fabric" category and it was given it's own cPath too. In it's url it is cPath=80 and shoud be cPath=65_80 I think.

I'm thinking there's a parameter I've set incorrectly somewhere, but I've tried everything.

This is happening in all of my categories.

I just noticed a very strange thing. If I click on a product displayed on my home page (or "new products" page or "all products" page), its url has the correct path.
If I follow the category menu to a product though, the path is wrong.

Admin > Configuration > My Store : Store Status = 1

That allows people to see but not Order anything.

I think I found the culprit. It wasn't the way I set up the Categories, it's the Category_list_box.php file I'm using. I want all the subcategories to show all the time and installed a mod for this that obviously doesn't work.
Does anyone have a link to one that does?
