free affiliate module problem

I've just installed the free affiliate module (from contributions archive) for the latest version for 1.3.7 (thats the one i currently have installed).

I've installed it despite some hiccups in the install, like the sql tables not being named correctly, but I've plowed through those and have successfully installed the affiliate module...almost.

I can go under "extras: -> "affiliates" --but there is no "insert" button to add a new record!

Anyone else have this problem?

More importantly, am I using the right add on to add very basic affiliate link tracking to zen cart? This site is being promoted through an ad agency who needs this functionality, not an existing affiliate program like jrox or idev.

They offer FREE version and
are recommended by zencart

Understood, but adding in a 3rd party affiliate tracking system like jrox is pretty well beyond the scope of what my client wants to pay for me to setup for now.

Am I to understand the free affiliate module simply doesn't work, or is my situation unique?

Only use JRox personally, because on previous zencart
releases could not get that free mod to work..
