Default Setting Permissions in Dreamweaver Error

I got an error whenever I try and change permissions in Dreamweaver.

    Setting access properties failed for:

    /mysite/catalog/includes/dist-configure.php

For additional information, check the FTP log.

I check the FTP log and it doesn't have anything unusual. The host being used for this site is GoDaddy. Any tips?

    Thank you

First of all, if you're in the trial period with GoneDaddy, get outta there.

Second, Dreamweaver will cause you more grief that grin.

Third, most hosts will not allow outside files or ftp programs to CHMOD files. You either need to do it from the control panel of your host or search for the file you can run on your server to do the trick.

Fourth, you should not need to change the permissions on dist-configure.php as it is meant to be edited and saved as configure.php. Then you would change configure.php to 444

I'm just trying to follow the instal html file in the docs folder. It said to change that file and another one to 777.

I can change permissions with dreamweaver on MY website hosted by Hostrocket, but for a client of mine who uses GoDaddy, I can't.

I'm just trying to get ZenCart setup and its giving me alot of grief. Starting with this

    thx

Even Filezilla is not allowed to CHMOD on many hosts.
