Do you have Configuration > Define Page Status > Define Main Page Status set to 1?

Your template is very heavily recoded. Did you do that work, or is it a purchased template?

It is quite possible that the template has disabled the define_main_page output. We would have to see the original template files to be sure.

I see. yes it is a purchased one and I worked on it too.

Well any other idea how can I make the home page a defined page? I know how to make new defined pages.

    Thanks

If the template has disabled one or more define pages, you will need to remove the code that does that from whatever file it is in. Look at the files in your custom template folder, especially /common/tpl_main_page.php and any files with "index" in the title. Compare them with the /template_default/ versions of the same files, and you may see the location(s) to fix.

You may want to switch to the Classic template and verify that the define pages work there.

I'm having a problem with the size and position of my homepage. Everything was good until I made the change to the "main_page" found under the define pages editor. Position may not matter much on a standard monitor, but on a wide screen it shows to the left and the whole things appears larger than the original. I've compared the stylesheet.css file with the installation file and they are identical. Subsequent product pages are fine, just the homepage is affected. Also, now the cart isn't showing up after clicking the "add to" button. It just appears blank. Please, take a look at the homepage and source code and if you can, give suggestions.

To all that have helped before, THANK YOU!
