Trouble With Shopping Cart - blank page

Hey all,

I've been having an issue with my ZenCart shopping cart. Any time any modification is made to the cart, such as adding a product, or deleting a product, the user is brought to a blank screen (black, in my case: matching the css background color of the site). However, opening the cart or viewing the products contained raises no issue. It seems also that even though the user is brought to the black screen, the cart is still updated accordingly, but just has no convenient way of reaccessing the site (besides the browser "Back" button) or has any confirmation that the alteration was made.

I've attempted to debug with the php error logger, as recommended in the FAQ, but yielded no related errors.

Any help would be grand.

Check your templates/your-template/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php file. My guess is you have a syntax error either in that page or the one loaded previous. Once its fixed everything will be back to normal. It does seem to output a line break, then stops likely because of syntax, a comma missing or something

I am having trouble with my shopping cart as well. It seems that one can access the cart , place and view items in the cart, update the cart, etc., but upon clicking the checkout button the checkout process stops. A blank page is seen and the process does not go any further. A custome alerted me to this problem today- they were unable to checkout. Cart was functional earlier this week.

Still no fix... :-\ I found no syntax errors...

I have looked through the site for errors and have not found any. The last update I made was the security update. I updated with the Aug 31? fix and then again with the revised fix. Problems began after the updates as best I can determine.
Has anyone else experienced shopping cart checkout problems after these updates?

i've installed the Debug Error-Logging Utility and it's found a problem (it said that an unexpected '<' found at line 159 in tpl_shopping_cart_default.php)

i've opened the file and seen that there was '<?php' at the line 159 and removed it. (i've checked several times and it seemed really unnecessary.)

Now, when i click to the add to basket button it opens a blank page and says "access denied".

I tried to put "?>" after "<?php" at the line 159 to close the php tag, but still it gives same alert.

Alright, well I've narrowed it down to the fact that it's my messagestack that is faulty. any time a message would appear, i get a blank page. however, I'm stuck again and any help would be grand.

Yeah that's a tough one. Seems every "cart" action causes the blank page. Deleting from cart, changing amounts, adding, etc. I stand by syntax error, but now believe its higher up in the workflow hierarchy. Looking at my carts as though my cart was doing that, I came up to main_cart_actions.php and wonder if that's where the problem is. Since none of the main cart actions work, I'd be combing that page for the errors, (missing semi-colon, curly brace). Also, I didn't create an account so if the errors you speak of behave differently for those logged in I didn't check that. I tried some paypal stuff on your site too and would also suggest checking includes/application_top.php for syntax. In fact, probably more so than the cart_actions. Print out some variables along the way and see what is empty or missing.
