shopping cart won't save after logout

It was working previously, but after installing a mod recently (I'm not sure which one), the shopping cart no longer saves after a user logs out. Where would I start looking to fix this? I searched the forums for shopping cart save, but can't find any previous posts on this topic. If I knew which files controlled this, I could figure out which mod broke it, and compare the changes.

There are a lot of ways to break the storage of the shopping cart or the retrieval ...

First ... login and make sure you have an empty shopping cart ...

Next, add something to the shopping cart and move around the Catalog for a few clicks make sure you still have something in the cart ...

Now, go into phpMyAdmin and look in the table:
customers_basket

and see if you see your customers_id with the product that you added ...

Next, log back in to the shop ... do you have anything in the shopping cart?

If you browse the customers_basket (be sure to browse fresh) is everything there or gone?

To see code changes that might affect this can be a problem as there are many ways to alter the original code ...

One thing you might do is get something like Beyond Compare from scootersoftware.com and compare a clean Zen Cart download with your current code and find the changes and see if that helps narrow things down ...

I can't replicate the problem now. I changed absolutely nothing, but the problem went away. I have no explanation, and it wasn't just me. I was alerted to the fact when multiple customers called in to place their orders over the phone cause the shopping cart kept losing their orders. I tested it all day and kept having the problem described in my original post. Now today when I try to test as you suggested, I can't reproduce the issue.

Scratching my head... Sorry to have wasted your time. Still uncertain if it will happen again, but will test as you described if it does.
