Default Stripped Down Zencart. Help Please

    Hi there,

I want to use ZenCart for a project I am working on which involves a kind of Video Management System being built up.

I like some of the features of ZenCart and the number of add-ons that have been contributed, so I would like to use it. However, I do not want all of the payment/currency processes, etc. Does anyone know of any easy way to get rid of this?

Alternatively, can anyone suggest another CMS which would suit?

    Regards,

    David.

If you do not need the checkout process, just turn it off in the Admin> Configuration> My Store

    Thanks for your reply.

I realise that there are ways to turn off the 'store' aspects inside the admin interface, but I am looking to create a custom ZenCart for a project I am doing and do not want to be left with extra files/code that are not used.

Do you know if I remove these if ZenCart will be adversely affected?

If the cart functions are turned off they are not being run and should have no effect on the operation of the "CMS" features, but removing parts and pieces could. If the user ever decided to use the shopping cart then you would have to put the files and functionality back anyway. The real question is why do you think it is necessary to physically remove the things you may not use?

I want to use the framework of ZenCart (ex. shopping features) and the add-ons that are available to make a new multimedia based CMS for an academic project. Therefore, I don't really want payment features, etc left kicking around in the code.
