Default New server finding the sql server name

Hi all - Soon moving from hosting space to a dedicated server.

I have transferred all of my Zen files over and created a new database. I have then imported the data from the old database into the new one.

in the config file for the current hosting space the DB_SERVER is defined as mysql1066.servage.net

How do I find out what to set it to on the new dedicated server?

If its any help, if I do a SHOW VARIABLES on the new server the socket is shown as : var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock

and in phpmyadmin, the server is shown as "Localhost via Unix socket"

It is worth noting that I have not modified the A record to transfer the domain yet so I am accessing the server via IP (which is static).

Thanks in advance for any help!

It is probably appropriate to start with using "localhost" as your DB_SERVER setting, as that's what you would use when the database is running on the same server as your PHP/Apache is.
