    Default One dollar extra charge

The store is set up with PayPal IPN. When a customer makes a purchase in the store, they see an extra $1 charge on their bank statement. Is this caused by PayPal or is it cause by how ZenCart is configured? How can I configure it so that this extra $1 is not charged?

Some customers are getting concerned because the $1 does not "drop off" of the bank statement even after the the purchase payment had been cleared by the bank and is no longer in the "pending" state. How many day does it take before this $1 charge disappear from the bank statement?

Are you saying it's a *separate* $1 charge? That sounds like something that happens when a new PayPal customer follows PayPal's instructions to "verify" their banking information. In that case, the charge never disappears, but once they enter the transaction amount into the PayPal site's verification field their PayPal account will be credited back with that amount.

You or your customer should be talking to PayPal for further clarification on that. It has nothing to do with your Zen Cart store.

    Thanks.

Yes, I can see it as a separate record in my online banking statement. And it is marked as "pending". I see one record that is the purchase amount. Then I see another record that is the $1 that is marked as "pending". Three days later (today actually), the $1 record disappeared from my online banking statement. So I know it is not an "actual fee".

I'm wondering if Paypal is doing this because I am using PDT token in the PayPal module.

PDT has nothing to do with charging customers. It's just a handshake to validate payment between PayPal and your store.

I think you'll have to ask PayPal about the $1 issue.
