    Default Sale Maker Problems

    Hi,
    I'm trying to set up my first sale. I've been reading all the FAQs and posts and trying everything suggested but to no avail.
    Want to set up 20% off one product category. I've made sure I'm applying it to the correct product ID, but I don't get any signs that it's taking my settings at all. Am I suppored to see the discounted price on each product page? Or only in the cart? It doesn't seem to change either place.
    I originally set it up with begin and end dates. When it wasn't working on schedule I went looking for the problem I've found that if I have a beginning date entered, it won't allow me to "enable" it. If I have no dates, or just an end date, it shows a green button as if it's enabled, but doesn't do anything.

    been to your site (very nice - probably a bit slow loading due to the size of the images).

    As I see it you only have one category set up. In that case salemaker should be set to

    "Check this box if you want the sale to be applied to all products:"
    "Entire Catalog"

    Did you make sure that the start date for your sale is set PRIOR to todays date and the end date at a much later date?

    In that case you should see the special price of all products - just like this example:

    I am running ZC 1.3.7.1 but I assume that the salemaker in ZC 1.3.8a is very similar if not the same. Fellow members are welcome to correct me if I am wrong

    Thanks Frank. I think I've tried every combo there is. Right now the settings I have are:

    Date Added: 09/05/2008
    Last Modified: 09/05/2008
    Last Status Change: 09/05/2008

    Deduction: 20.0000 Percent
    Pricerange: $0.00 to $0.00
    Specials Condition: Ignore Specials Price - Apply to Product Price and Replace Special


    Starts: 10/01/2008
    Expires: 10/31/2008

    I JUST tried this setting after your post. Two things I'm observing... the "Last Status Change" date NEVER changes to the date I'm actually making the changes. I've tried deleting the sale and reentering one under a new name and I still get the same dates on the top three lines.
    Also, if I have any start date in that field, I can NEVER "enable" and get a green light. It only goes green when I have no date in the start field. Not that it matters though since it doesn't seem to work either way.
    I've tested my observation about nothing getting updated in other areas. I've set up "specials" and although they're showing the special price in the admin area, it doesn't carry through to the live site. I Also tried to make other changes to the site as part of the test. Tried to kill or move the "tell a friend" side box and couldn't get it to do anything. So, I'm not sure if this is truly a Sale Maker problem or something else. Any insights will be appreciated.

    I guess you may be right - this appears to be more than just a Sale Maker problem.

    You may want to consider comparing your original file set against the current one - using an application like Winmerge.
