seen these on a feu sites including buyagift.com where if you refere 5 friends you recieve a free £5 discount voucher.

is there a way this can be done on zencart?

When you say Discount Voucher ... do you mean:

$5.00 Gift Certificate

im not tracking referrals, i not touched any setting on this from installation.

$5 coupon or code either way as long as the coupon can only be used once and not spread round the net for any one to use.

had a search and look on the knowlegde base and google search but couldn't find any info on referrals so i just ignored it.

I am trying to ask, "how will you determine" that a new customer is a "referral" from an "existing" customer?

What is it that will let you know a Discount Coupon for $5.00 should be created for 1 time use by 1 customer?

If this is to be done manually, just go to the Gift Certificate/Coupons ... Coupon Admin ...

And you can create a Discount Coupon for 1 time use and 1 customer and then email it to them ...

oh sorry this is what buyagift.com does

you click the get £5 off voucher button, you then enter 5 friends names and email address and click submit, the 5 friends are then emailed an email that says DAVE as invited you to check out the website www.whateva.com blah blah blah, the friend who refered the friemds recieves and email with a voucher code (gift voucher code) to recieve £5 off when entered during checkout.

there doesn't seem to be any kind of validation on the buyagift.com site, but you can only use one voucher at a time, ie you can't invite 100 people and get £100 off an order, etc

i did notice the invite 5 freidns and get £5 off thing does come up after you place an order and not before, so make you shop again, but it might be a good idea if it could only be used once by a customer so they cant get £10000 of pound off, but if friends need to buy then this could also be good,

could the referal thing built into zen do something like this at all, just trying to see if i can get more people inviting other people etc to get more sale etc.

There really isn't anything in Zen Cart for doing something like this ...

It would make for a nice add-on to Zen Cart, just need someone to sit down and code it ...
