SQL error in Referral Sources addon

I'm getting this error at the top of the admin age in the referrals Sources

1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 's website' order by ci.customers_info_id DESC' at line 1
in:
[select ci.customers_info_id, ci.customers_info_date_account_created from customers_info ci, sources_other so where so.customers_id = ci.customers_info_id and so.sources_other_name = 'Emily Layton's website' order by ci.customers_info_id DESC]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.


How would i go about fixing this

Is referrals Sources a 3rd party module?

Look to their support thread for a solution

its the "How did you hear about us" from the downloads.
I was unable to find anything with the same error

Did you just install it recently(read the last mod installed)?

Did you make a backup of your DB before you did this so that you might have a fall back position?

i have had this installed from the start. I do have a back up i just wasnt sure what has caused this .

So is this a new development? or has this always been this way?

If new, what else has changed?
Server, phpver, mysql ver, upgrade of Zen Cart?

I havent changed anything.
I have been using this mod for about a year.

This appears to be a bug in the addon, whereby it's not built to properly handle accepting of apostrophes when someone keys in a response to the "other" field. It's likely that you've not had the problem earlier because perhaps nobody has tried using apostrophes earlier?
To fix, you'll have to alter the code to properly handle apostrophes.
